Our Online shop is a safe and secure way to purchase our products. Here's how you can tell:
1) Check the webpage URL.
Normally, when browsing the web, the URLs (web page addresses) begin with the letters "http", like this:
However, over a secure connection the address displayed should begin with "https" - note the "s" at the end, like this:
Our main site is a normal website, but the pages where you enter your credit card details and personal delivery information are all part of a secure site. You can check this by looking at the address bars on both this page and on the shopping cart page by clicking below:
This ensures that when you enter your payment details you do so in a way that protects your identity and the information you enter.
2) Check for the 'Lock' icon.
There is a de facto standard among web browsers to display a "lock" icon somewhere in the window of the browser (NOT in the web page display area!) For example:
The Lock icon is not just a picture! Click (or double-click) on it to see details of the site's security. This is important to know because some fraudulent web sites are built with a bar at the bottom of the web page to imitate the lock icon of your browser! Therefore it is necessary to test the functionality built into this lock icon.
These are the two best ways of identifying is a website is secure. Give yourself peace of mind and take the two minutes to check the site you are visiting. Happy browsing!
